JOURNÉES DE LA CULTURE
On Friday, September 27th, between 3 and 4 pm, be part of a rehearsal with second-year students working on To Lose the World by Margie Gillis, which will be presented in Danses d’hiver show. A discussion with dancer and choreographer assistant, Geneviève Boulet, will follow the presentation.
About the piece
To Lose the World faces the hard truth that 1/2 of the world’s population are refugees and with climate change that number is expected to explode. Who are we in this statelessness? Who are we homeless and unmoored? The piece is an inquiry into empathy and compassion.
A story that explores the phenomenon of forced flight, vulnerability, loss of home and the search for a new life. You are invited to discover the inner workings of our soul’s journey, while highlighting the poetry that resides in the art of dance.
