David Cronkite
Rythmic Approaches
A musician, composer, singer and teacher, David Cronkite has created over 15 original instrumental, electroacoustic and interactive works as well as music for theatre (Soulfishing Theatre), spoken word (Catherine Kidd) and dance (Trial & Eros). Holder of a Ph.D. in Music from the Université de Montréal, he received scholarships and the Joseph Stauffer Prize (from the Canada Council for the Arts). David developed the "Probe" improvisation and composition software in the MaxMSP environment. He has been a Tai Chi instructor for 15 years and is also a certified massage therapist and member of the FQM (Fédération Québecoise des Massothérapeutes agréés). He has also taught musical computer applications at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. |
