Benjamin Harvey

Benjamin Harvey grew up dancing at the Guelph Youth Dance Training Program where he was primarily taught by Janet Johnson, Kelly Steadman and Catrina von Radecki. Growing up in a rich dance community and a nurturing dance school, he was fortunate to have numerous meaningful dance experiences throughout his childhood. Notably, he worked with David Earle, and toured China with the Performance Ensemble of Canada.
At 18, Ben moved to Montreal and began his professional training at l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. There, he has had many exceptional teachers including Marc Boivin, Lucie Grégoire, Valerie Lessard, Bernard Martin, Alexandre Morin, Isabelle Poirier, Manuel Roque, Linda Rabin, and Jamie Wright. He is set to graduate in 2022. Montreal has opened Ben’s eyes to the endless possibilities of what dance can be and strengthened his sense of autonomy, intellect, and curiosity as a dancer. He looks forward to continuing to learn and develop his strength and sensitivity as an artist.
