RECREATIONAL CLASSES
Kalarippayattu

Connect to your inner strength
Training & Meditation in motion: inpired by Kalarippayattu, this class is presented as the synthesis of Danhurveda, the ancient science of war and Ayurveda, the medical art. There are very dynamic movements, close to the ground, as well as consecutive movements made up of big jumps, big kicks and big lunges. This martial art is developed to improve muscular and cardiovascular endurance, agility, strength, power, flexibility, balance and coordination. This comprehensive approach relies on the use of bones, musculature and nervous system. Also, the connections between consciousness and the body are developed through exercises that promote the activation of breathing as well as concentration.
The sessions will begin with a global warm-up from various martial practices (Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga). Subsequently, it will be about learning the vadivus; postures inspired by the animal kingdom (elephant, horse, lion, cat, snake, rooster, wild boar, etc.). Then the class will continue with the Meippayattu (equivalent of Chinese taos, Japanese katas), sequences whose goal is to make the body strong and agile. The exercises will bring the participants into a dance where the whole body will be engaged; it will also raise awareness the relationship between space and other participants.
