Livia Fortin

Originally from Montreal’s South Shore (Quebec, Canada), Livia discovered dance in 2017 and quickly developed a deep passion for contemporary dance, which she perceives as a space for freedom and introspection. In 2022, she began her training at Cégep de Saint-Laurent, then continued at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM), where she deepened her body work, developed her precision, and strengthened her connection to movement. Curious and committed, she is particularly interested in the musicality of movement and the inner transformation that rigorous physical work allows.
As part of her studies at the EDCM, she worked with choreographers such as Virginie Brunelle, Victor Quijada, Alan Lake, Marie Chouinard, and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. She wishes to pursue a path where creation, collaboration, and research remain at the heart of her practice, while exploring the dialogue between dance and other forms of artistic expression that nourish her imagination.
