SUMMER SCHOOL

SCHEDULE

FROM AUGUST 3 TO 14, 2026

Dance professionals are invited to take advantage of the technique classes and interpretation workshops offered as part of the Summer School with 2nd and 3rd-year students.

  • Motrya Kozbur
Motry Kozbur explores movement as a unifying experience, one that can connect people to their bodies and each other through nuanced explorations. She sets out to guide people toward feeling expansive and ready to move, and to enter complex embodiments gradually and fully. With continuous cues of kinesthetic fantasy, we warm up sensations in different parts of the body, and reach towards layers of presence. The class encourages trial and error and focuses on process rather than product.
  • 7Starr
The workshop begins by focusing on the origins, evolution, and impact of Krump on a global and community level. Participants then learn the basic movements of Krump through choreography and repetition. Learning one or more sequences helps participants better master the technique and requires a certain amount of discipline, which is essential to the learning process.
  • Justin Rapaport
This workshop offers an immersion into Mehdi Walerski’s choreographic world through a project inspired by his piece Sway. Participants will explore excerpts from the work by learning solos and group sections.
  • Fred Despierre
    More information to come.
This workshop is open primarily to EDCM graduates.
  • Sébastien Provencher
The workshop will be organized around themes that will vary from day to day, allowing performers to explore different facets of performance, including experimentation, creation, improvisation, and the development of various qualities of stage presence. Performers will have the opportunity to work with material from Sébastien’s repertoire (various choreographic sections will be taught to the performers) as well as explore creation through various physical and conceptual improvisation exercises, the creation of gestural material, and vocal explorations.
  • Elsa Tellier
These evening yoga sessions are designed to promote physical recovery, flexibility, and nervous system relaxation.
Through gentle, restorative practices, participants will be guided into a space conducive to relaxation, grounding, and processing the day’s events. The sessions will also include pranayama and yoga nidra practices to support deep relaxation and recovery.
