Xalbat Corret

Xalbat Corret is a contemporary dancer trained at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. Motivated by the exploration of movement and its interpretation, he juggles intense physical work and precision of movement, always seeking to surprise himself.
Initially trained in traditional Basque dance, he continued his studies at the CRR in Biarritz and then at the EDCM. Inspired by his own culture, his dance research is highly instinctive and influenced by both his contemporary and traditional backgrounds. Through this dual influence, he has developed a unique physical style, where tradition and modernity meet and transform each other. His work is sensitive and committed, seeking to create a dialogue between identity, memory, and creation. His stage work is part of an ongoing quest for authenticity and transformation of movement.
