Erin O’Loughlin
TechniqueErin O’Loughlin is a dance artist and certified Pilates instructor based in Tio’tià:ke/Montreal since 2013. She currently performs with Andrea Peña & Artists, Sylvain Émard Danse, and the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation. A founding member of LA TRESSE, Erin has co-created, performed, and produced numerous works with the Collective since 2014. O’Loughlin holds a BA in Dance and International Relations from the University of Calgary, and her further training includes The Ailey School in New York, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and participation in numerous residencies at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity. She has taught at institutions including McGill University, the École de danse de Québec, École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, the Regroupement Québécois de la Danse, the Shiamak Davar Institute in Mumbai, India, and has led choreographic workshops across Canada and Europe. As a teacher, choreographer and performer, Erin is interested in exploring how controlled precision and chaos can co-exist and is motivated by multi-dimensional characters and physical states that are layered with past, present, and future.
