Stefania Skoryna
ChoreographerSince graduating from École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2015, Stefania Skoryna has performed in works by Mélanie Demers (OFFTA, 2016), Jérémie Niel’s company Pétrus (Théâtre de Quat’sous, 2019), and Martin Messier (FTA, 2019). She also started choreographing and creating works for events at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Chalet du Mont-Royal, the Montréal Botanical Garden (AsTheyStrikeCollective), and Zoofest (2015-2018). Her fascination for the relationship between sound and movement leads her to collaborate with different composers (O. Alary, S. Perli, Y. Berthiaume, R. Camiolo, M. Daigneault) and ensembles (Paramirabo and Volte). Her pieces have been presented by Tangente, Dance Matters, Codes d’accès, and MUTEK. Her involvement in the dance community plays a key role in her practice. In 2020, she completed her tenth year of teaching dance. She sits on three boards of directors in the performing arts and she also organised a mentorship for the first-year students of EDCM. She also co-founded Nous Sommes L’Été, a summer movement laboratory in Montréal and Québec. |
