Call for applications: artist residency, MAP, Ecole de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (Quebec, Canada)
As part of MAP mobility programme, Pepinieres Europeens de Creation and the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ – Quebec Council for Arts and Letters) are launching a call for applications for an artist residency in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). For its 2019-2020 program, the Ecole de danse contemporaine de Montréal will host a young European choreographer (18 to 35 y/o) for a two-month residency period.

The residency
The choreographer-in-residence is mandated to create an original 30-minute work for a group of 10 to 20 young dancers who are completing their professional training in contemporary dance. The residency takes place within the framework of a professional training in contemporary dance performance and the creation time is part of the training’s schedule. The created work will be presented publicly in a theater at the Wilder Espace-danse building, from May 20 to 23, 2020, as part of the show Les danses de mai – Opus 2020.
Residency period
The choreographer in residence has 70 hours of creation spread between March 23 and May 23, 2020.
Amount of the scholarship offered to the selected artist
The CALQ is offering a CAD $ 4,000 scholarship for a two-month residency (8 weeks) to the selected artist.
The resident artist will also be given a well-equipped apartment.
