Montreal, October 21, 2019 – The EDCM is proud to announce the appointment of its Executive Director, Yves Rocray, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association des écoles supérieures d’Art du Québec (ADESAQ, formerly ADESAM).
A member of ADESAQ for many years, he took over from Michel Desjardins, Executive Director and Program Director of L'inis, who officially announced his retirement as president after 10 years of service developing the Association and its member schools. He has agreed to remain a board member for a period of one year.
This appointment comes at a pivotal moment as the association is expanding its membership to arts schools across Quebec.
“Under the chairmanship of Michel, various promising projects were launched and they have allowed us to develop our uniqueness as an asymmetrical collective. Michel led the way with his determination, leadership and ability to unite people. We now face a great challenge as we’re expanding the ADESAQ membership throughout Quebec. We hope to inject this new energy into our Association. This momentum will allow us to further enhance our presence and niche in higher arts education throughout Quebec. Welcoming, openness, dialogue, collaboration and sharing have been part of our DNA since the very beginning. These should continue to be our core values over the next few years,” said Yves Rocray.
The EDCM team and its board of directors extend their warm congratulations to him.
