Clara Biernacki

An artist from birth, Clara Biernacki has always been driven by her empathy for others, connection to the earth, desire for freedom, and curiosity of the world. Originally from the small town of Pembroke, Ontario, she began dancing at the age of three, training, creating, and competing in a variety of styles. Her ambition and work ethic brought her all around Canada, and at age 15 she moved across the country to further her training at Alberta Ballet School’s Professional Division. After graduating in 2022, Biernacki moved to Montréal to begin her post-secondary education at École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal, where she had the opportunity to perform the works of choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Shahar Binyamini, Victor Quijada, Dana Gingras, and many others. Through her experiences, she has learnt not only how to approach movement with technical precision, but how to also connect deeply with the emotional and conceptual layers of a piece. She loves diving into different choreographic worlds that allow her inner interpreter and creature to take over; exploring movement initiated by internal sensation and instinct. Biernacki loves to be challenged, both physically and mentally, using her dynamic versatility to push her body to new limits. She desires to be a part of and create art that is meaningful in a world filled with a multitude of global challenges. For Biernacki, movement is a way into her soul and subconscious mind; it is through dance that she feels the most alive.
