Alec Charbonneau
At the age of thirteen, Alec Charbonneau auditioned for the dance program at his local high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, without giving it much thought. He was selected, and his passion for movement blossomed. During his four years at De La Salle public high school, he mastered floor work, contact improvisation, choreographic creation and the techniques of Graham, Limon and Cecchetti ballet. In 2020, to perfect his dance skills, he moved to Montreal (Quebec, Canada) and took professional training at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, graduating in 2023. There he met the work of Marie Chouinard, Danièle Desnoyers and Stacey Désilier, and familiarized himself with the Fighting Monkey, Flying Low and Gaga techniques. At the dawn of his professional career, the combination of physicality and aesthetic virtuosity led him to contemplate Europe as a new path, alongside teaching. Photo: Julie Artacho |
