Born in Nîmes, France, Jérémy Galdeano graduated from the École Nationale de Danse de Marseille. He began his career as an apprentice at the Ballet National de Marseille before joining Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in 2001, where he evolved for 19 years to become the first soloist.
His varied repertoire includes plays by Mats Ek, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Didy Veldman, Christian Spuck, Jean Christophe Maillot, Shen Wei, Stephan Thoss, Nacho Duato, Stijn Celis, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Garreth Smith, Edward Clug, Ettine Bechard, among others. In parallel with his career as a dancer, Jérémy also created several works for the company’s choreographic workshops, presented in Montreal, Germany and Mexico.
In 2020, after a busy career with Les Grands Ballets, Jérémy chose to devote himself fully to choreography and teaching. He also held the position of rehearsal director for the Cas Public dance company until 2023. In collaboration with Vera Kvarkacova, he forms a dynamic choreographic duo.
Their creation “DOMA” was a great success, integrating the mixed program “Parlami d’Amore” of the Grands Ballets Canadiens in May 2019, and being selected for prestigious events such as the Carte Blanche DAC 2019 in Montreal and the Noverre-Young choreographers’ evening at the Stuttgart Ballet. They were finalists in the Hanover 2020 international choreography competition and invited to HANGARTFEST in Italy. Their work was also selected for the Future Dance Festival 92Y in New York, where they presented “DOMA” at the Joyce Theater as part of the Martha Graham Company season.
Their short film “DOMA” won the award for the best dance video at the Rio WebFest 2019 and was honored as best dance short film at the Queen Palm International Film Festival 2020. Their creation “ZABA”, made during the 2020 lockdown, was selected for the Digital Interface Festival.
They also co-created “Solo for Three” for the Grands Ballets gala. In June 2021, their creation “FOMO” was presented at the Théâtre National de Mannheim in Germany and at the Quartiers Danses Festival in Montreal, where she was awarded the award for the best indoor show.
In 2022, “DOMA” was played in Houston and Austin (United States) with the Ishida Dance Company. In June 2023, “BLÍZ” was created and presented at the Mannheim National Theatre in Germany. In January 2024, Jérémy created “You look strange_You look happy” for the Ishida Dance Company in Austin, Texas. In March 2024, they presented their brand new creation “Nebe” with Les Grands Ballets during the mixed program “Soirée Cantata”. In June 2024, during the final of the competition of young choreographers organized by the Malandain ballet Biarritz, they came out winners with a Prize for Creation and Distribution at the CCN-Ballet of the National Opera of the Rhine as well as the Prize for Dance Professionals. To finish their 2024 season, they present their latest creation “Doma stories” accompanied by “BLÍZ” in Hukvaldy (Czech Republic) at the Leos Janáček International Music Festival.
