Merryn Kritzinger
Montreal-based freelance dancer Merryn Kritzinger has been invested in the contemporary dance scene since 2006. Originally from Toronto and trained at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (New York), she has created and performed across North and South America, Europe, and Asia, and on television. Inspiring collaborations include artists Lydia Bouchard, Véronique Giasson, Geneviève Dorion-Coupal, Team White, Audrey Bergeron, Jasmine Ellis (DE), and Johanne Madore, with companies including les 7 doigts, Cirque du Soleil, Cas Public, and Robert Lepage’s Ex-Machina. Merryn has been integral to Springboard Danse, serving as Associate Director and Director of Communications until 2022, playing a key role in its growth and international outreach. Alongside her colleagues Roxane Duchesne-Roy and Susan Paulson, Merryn imagined the unique collective Le Broke Lab (est.2010), fostering artistic research that is uncensored and free from the usual pressures of producing final results. Lydia Bouchard and Merryn teamed up in 2020 to launch La Résistance, a courageous and playful company that revisits the way of creating and consuming live art. Photo: Marjorie Guindon |
