Ballet for contemporary Dancers
For more than 20 years, Bernard Martin has demonstrated his brilliant technique and versatility with companies and choreographers of worldwide standing. With Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal (1991-1997), he performed both repertoire works including Balanchine and contemporary pieces by such choreographers as James Kudelka, Mark Morris, Nacho Duato, Jirí Kylián and Ohad Naharin. With Montréal-Danse (1997-2001) he danced in works by Montreal choreographers José Navas, Dominique Porte and Paula de Vasconcelos. He also collaborated on Eironos by the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault. Bernard Martin was a member of Édouard Lock’s La La La Human Steps from 2001 to 2009, with whom he performed in all the world’s cultural capitals. He had lead roles in Amjad, Amélia – the ballet and the film – and Les Boréades, an opera by Jean-Philippe Rameau choreographed by Édouard Lock and presented at the Opéra de Paris. Bernard also collaborated with Le Carré des Lombes.
