Anna Vauquier

A contemporary dance artist based in Tiohtiá:ke/Montréal (Québec, Canada), Anna Vauquier (she/her) is known for her commitment, creative spirit and instinct. Trained in contemporary dance at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Montpellier (France), she obtained her diploma in choreographic studies in 2018. She then continued her training at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. During her training, she had the opportunity to collaborate as a performer in the creations of Parts+Labour_Danse, Jean-Benoit Labrecque and the repertoire of Stéphanie Lake, Ohad Naharin and Dorotea Saykaly, among others. With a strong desire to broaden her gestural palette, a fascination for expressivity and powerful physicality, she began learning the KRUMP technique in 2023, alongside Taminator, 7starr and Jr Maddripp. In her personal practice, she exploits improvisation, which also nourishes her approach to choreographic creation. In her quest for accuracy and honesty, Anna Vauquier aims to shake up audiences.
