Michelle Lucero Moris

Michelle Lucero Moris is a Chilean dancer and teacher based in Montreal. Her multidisciplinary background in dance, theater, circus and yoga began in childhood and has led her to explore movement in many forms. In 2017, she began a bachelor’s degree in dance at the University of Chile, graduating with honors, before immigrating to Canada in 2021 to further her training at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. Along the way, she has performed works by such renowned choreographers as Ohad Naharin, Shahar Binyamini, Dana Gingras, Sylvain Émard and Sofia Nappi. Her artistic development has also been nurtured through workshops with influential figures such as Francisco Córdova, David Zambrano and Margie Gillis.

Guided by a vision in which the body becomes a vessel of memory and inner fire, Michelle explores the poetry of movement as a sensory, instinctive and deeply human language. Her artistic approach is rooted in somatic practices and the relationship between body, mind and soul, seeking to reveal how this interconnection shapes presence, sensation and spatial relationships. Each movement thus becomes a doorway to transformation, a dialogue between memory, instinct and imagination.

A passionate teacher, she shares the emancipatory power of movement with diverse communities, including refugees, placing listening, transmission and free expression of the body at the heart of her pedagogy. Today, she continues to refine her practice and explore new artistic avenues, building bridges between disciplines, cultures and sensibilities.
