A former elite gymnast, Anny Gauthier was immersed in the world of competitive sports from a very young age and developed into a rigorous and disciplined athlete. After the Eastern Canadian Championships in Halifax, she left artistic gymnastics around the age of 12 to focus on dance. A student at the École de danse Louise Lapierre for nearly eight years, Anny distinguished herself through her strength, precision, and work ethic in intensive programs and competitive dance troupes.
In 2018, she was selected to join the professional training program at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. Anny trained under nationally and internationally renowned teachers, choreographers, and coaches. A recipient of the Sofia Borella Scholarship, she has distinguished herself through her creative approach and professionalism throughout her career.
Since graduating in 2021, Anny has focused on dance pedagogy and the importance of sharing movement with the community. As a contemporary dance teacher for the intensive scholarship programs for teens and adults at the École de danse Louise Lapierre since 2022, she has enabled hundreds of dancers to deepen their knowledge and skills in contemporary dance within a supportive, healthy, and inclusive environment.
At the same time, she earned a certificate in screenwriting (UQAM) and worked in the audiovisual industry in production, directing, and choreography for film. She is interested in how movement can be highlighted on screen within complex and nuanced narrative structures.
In January 2025, Anny decided to make teaching movement her full-time career by training at Connexion Pilates, where she earned a certification in STOTT Pilates Intensive Mat-Plus and subsequently trained for the STOTT Intensive-Reformer certification. She quickly became a recognized instructor thanks to her professional experience and dance teaching skills.
Today, Anny works as a movement educator and multidisciplinary artist, constantly seeking authenticity and truth.
