Fanny Laplanche

A 2026 graduate of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Fanny Laplanche discovered her passion for movement through jazz dance in France, before finding contemporary dance at the Boulogne Billancourt Conservatory.
As her curiosity grew, she became interested in circus arts, floor work, and partner work, developing a taste for discovering others. She likes to combine physical movement with meaning and poetry, a combination she seeks in her creations and artistic collaborations.
Alongside her dance practice, she discovered a keen interest in the manual arts, often textiles, which greatly inspired her research work, particularly in her piece Aliénés (2024).
Her move to Montreal allowed her to discover more about herself and assert her artistic personality, particularly through her exposure to works such as Virginie Brunelle’s Fables (2025) and Alan Lake’s Marcher dans les cendres (2025).
