Mathis Mailloux

Originally from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Quebec, Canada), Mathis Mailloux is a dancer who comes from the competitive world. Graduated from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, he developed a practice that combines technical mastery with expressive freedom. Attracted by precision of movement, he strives for great physical stability, constantly seeking to refine his control, strength, and clarity of movement.
Mathis explores contemporary dance through a wide range of skills. Virtuosity meets inner listening and intention. He is particularly interested in how technique can support expressiveness: how a solid, grounded, and agile body can open up to more instinctive and vulnerable states of presence.
Through his studies and research, Mathis is forging a choreographic language that combines physical power, fluidity, and precision. His career is part of a quest for authenticity, where technical rigor serves as a springboard for committed dance.
